Christmas Shopping Food

IMGP0397

When it is cold outside and a little bit rainy, and you have shifted your focus from Christmas dishes to Star Wars’ Clone Wars figures, all things Thomas the Train, and what a 16 year old nephew might like for Christmas…

because last year , shopping for said nephew, you made the mistake of entering a darkened Abercrombie&Fitch , where the music was pulsing loudly and the clothes looked torn, and a former student who worked there looked shocked to see you in his world, because middle-aged English teachers staring slack-jawed may not convey the image the store promotes…

At that moment you need/I need an iced cold Diet Coke and a steaming hot, fresh tamale that you can buy at Delia’s or Tamales y Mas, or De Alba’s Bakery, where everyone acts like it is a pleasure to see a middle-aged English teacher.

Add salsita and enjoy.

We used to get the best tamales in Pensacola. I love them with Diet Coke, too, :-)

I know EXACTLY what you mean! Who can think in those stores with all that loud music and a $100 pair of jeans with holes in them, HUH? Oh well, I am with you... those gifts get bought on-line these days:) Have a blessed day!

Oh, my heart be still. I have not had a great tamale in years! Oh, and for breakfast with a fried egg. All that yummy masa and spicy meat.

I haven't been in a mall in a year or so.
You are funny. I really enjoy your thoughts.
Laura, thank you for your sweet comment. I am hungry now and ready for my diet RC.

Now you know what I'm going to be searching out for lunch today. As to A & F, I'm sure the kids who work in their stores will be deaf before they reach university. A & F has created the 8th circle of h ell.

I will eat them, but have never been a real fan. Sure would like some other Mexican food right now - Lunch time!

LOL! The last time I was in A&F, there were younguns running around in underwear and nobody to take the $100 I was willing to pay for the shirt that was worth $20.I haven't been back. The tamales are a much better idea.

This post was so funny and so true. I loved the way you expressed yourself here. Wonderful!

I like the birds in your trees too. I have a big bird theme going on this year and even sent my DH outside yesterday in the cold snowy rainy weather to collect the abandoned bird nests out of the birdhouses.
