Cheaper Than the Emergency Room

IMG_2381 One of my favorite things is happening today,

and no, we are not moving.

For a very affordable rate,

two men from Chapa’s moving will

be here this afternoon to

*move everything out of the garage

and rearrange it so that my gazillion boxes of Christmas decorations are

against the wall

*move all of our Market Days inventory to the center of the garage

for Market Days this Saturday

and

*move pieces of furniture around in my house.

(my favorite!)

Here are the advantages of this plan,

including the fair cost.

1.  Chapa’s moving men do not scowl.

2.  Chapa’s moving men do not ask ‘why in the world are we doing this now?’.

3.  Chapa’s moving men smile when I change my mind and say

try it there’.

3.  And above all…

Chapa’s Moving is cheaper than the emergency room.

I concede that the days of moving a piano around my

house

with my right hip

are a thing of the

not so smart past.

So my advice is…

If you love to drag very heavy things home from the flea market,

or you have that ‘I can’t stand that piece of furniture there one more second syndrome’,

or you know what a pulled back, sciatic nerve,

or a stumped toe feels like,

head to the Yellow Pages and start getting rates.

You will be glad you did.

Wow sounds like fun! :D Hope you have a great day!! :)
Our house is way too small and no none-manageable furniture moves here so we tackle them ourselves. Funny you mention this though, because my Mom (80 years old) still regularly moves all of her furniture around and it drives Dad (85) nuts, lol.

LOL- sounds like a plan to me. I hate all the scowls and WHY's I get around here. That is why I usually tackle everything myself..and pay the piper later. Hugs-Diana

Wow, what a great idea, I never would have thought of this, but it's SO smart! Happy re-arranging!!!

What a great idea! I've had a bad back since my twenties (30 years and ticking), and I ain't getting any younger. I can't tell you how many things I've moved with my hips or sat on the floor and moved with my feet. Love the perky flowers in your sidebar.

I'm sorry, but as a frequent mover, these guys sound much to good to be true! Congratulations on this gem of a find!

Laura, I think it is time to buy stock in this company. Not only are these men good at what they do(you recomend them and that is good enough for me) but you are probably on first name basis with them by now and you might also be on the I'll-bake-brownies-for-you level as well.
I am so excited that you may have solved my clean-out-the-hut dilema!! Thanks!!

I do remember moving large pieces of furniture with my hip, many, many years ago! I love the idea of having a couple smiling men do that kind of work now...enjoy your new found spaces!

You and I think alike here. Pay someone to do it. It's also better than listening to other grown men whine about moving stuff. Enjoy the freed up space.

Now that is such a good idea! Why didn't I think of that? I will take your advice the next time we need to rearrange things.

My husband is one of those stubborn guys who thinks he can do everything and he ends up getting me into it too. So many times we are carrying something up or down the basement stairs and I feel like I can't move up or down. He'd never let me hire someone...but he should! I keep telling him he's old, he should just suck it up and ask for help when we need it.

Perfect idea!!

You do what you have to do, Laura! LOL I'm such "do it now" kind of girl, that I end up doing most everything myself. I did have to wait for the husband to hand things up to me in the attic when we put away the holiday boxes and bins, though. And I can attest that I've suffered a few stubbed toes-(I actually broke the big one in Dec.), a bonk on the head, a few broken fingernails, and some scraped knuckles. Hmmmm.... Maybe I SHOULD hire someone next time! LOL

oh Laura I love the way you think...

LOL... Definitely cheaper than the ER visit! I had to laugh as I remember me and hubby actually carrying a solid mahogany dresser up the stairs to our attic area. Lord help... what WAS I thinking? I'm amazed I don't have hernias galore.

Such wisdom you've shared with us, Laura! I'll admit I did think, "OH no ... I hate moving day" when I saw the first image! You got me! But in a good way. Take care, and have a happy Valentine's Day!
