Thinking, Remembering, Rule Breaking

IMG_3995

I can liken that click that comes,

when inspiration hits,

to the fumbling of a key in a lock.

IMG_4017

When it clicks it clicks.

In fact the thoughts were there all along-

or more accurately-

the source of inspiration was there all along.

IMG_4015

The thoughts just needed my

3 step process.

Thinking.

Remembering.

Rule Breaking.

IMG_4016

Here is how it works .

(Thinking)

…I just love my new rattan chargers and I wonder if my green Bordallo plates with the bamboo edging would look like late winter?

IMG_4016

(Remembering)

… then there is my favorite all time curtain tapestry panel…

and the pairs of green things I have…

…and the mossy garden artichoke that belongs to my daughter…

IMG_3996

(Rule Breaking)

…but the greens don’t match…

Good!…

Note to Daughters:

Tablescaping is really about dressing a mantel.

Think of it that way and you will never

lack for ideas

-and-

you can use things you have in your home-

not just in your kitchen.

Just beautiful! Plus, this may have decided me on whether to leave my dining room as is or go ahead and paint it the yellow sample I had picked. Your room is stunning.

Laura, it's good to jump outside the rules. Who made up those rules anyway????
Great looking Bordello plates. I've not see ones with the bamboo edge. All looks delicious in your beautiful dining room. ~ Sarah
