Cleaning Out Cabinets: A New Method

Mexican Hutch

For those of you who frequent White Spray Paint ,

do not be alarmed.

I have not dropped my basket .

Even if you’re thinking,
“Good night nurse, Laura is not spending money one day, and she’s cleaning out cabinets the next.”

Just know that I have had a grand revelation in the area of cabinet cleaning.
It’s all about my new method, which really works.

I only clean out ONE cabinet at a time which I select RANDOMLY and AT WILL.

Meexican Hutch 2

It is so freeing.

This afternoon when I opened the medicine cabinet and something fell onto the floor, I cleaned out that cabinet and threw away everything that we did not need.

And then I stopped.
I did not clean out every cabinet in the bathroom, which I have been known to do with great irritation and gnashing of teeth .

The remaining cabinets will get cleaned and organized.

Just not all at once.

I used to be all about the cleaning out system and finding just the right system and finding the perfect supplies to support the system and even going to the library or Barnes and Noble to find books on new systems.

That dear friends is procrastination in disguise.

Who knew?

And so in an hour or two or even tomorrow, when my eye spots another cabinet , and I am willing, I will tackle that one.

And what about the things that are not needed anymore?

I am going to give them away.

That's about how I do it! No real organization to it!

At this point I need to start somewhere! Even my purse is a mess! I have the summer off and I tend to get to my organizing then!

I so-o-o-o need to do some de-cluttering...but, I think I'm procrastinating. We will have to pack it all up when we move anyway, so guess I just plan on not doing any!

Thank you for stopping by with your compliment and for following. I followed you back on FB and on Pinterest.

Have a great weekend!

Laura, I love it! Your method SPEAKS to me...One cabinet. One Day. One Job DONE. rah. :-) Random and Intention. Gotta grab that one and take it outta here with me. *I also love your No Spend January...this is something we have had going on for a number of years around this nest. Because of all that is spent in December. Works out pretty good. And of course there is every once in a while an exception made for the unexpected mindblower of a deal that presents itself "in your face". But it's the intentional pursuit that counts!(right???) I am making one purchase tomorrow that got put off since 12/14 from a Craig's List call. The holidays interfered, and it is just now coming to closure, so IT DOESN'T COUNT. Would have been a Dec. purchase originally. **AND...hubby is good with that. yay. THANK YOU for visiting me. I love to pop in here and see what's going on. I need to comment more. (and not be RUDE!) sending a blog sis hug your way. Keep On. love your blog, and your ponderings about LIFE. ;-)

On my to do list...clean out my closets and drawers...before Spring! (Spring deadline so I won't procrastinate too long!)
It does feel good to get things in order but I don't much like the process of doing so!
Blessings,
Cindy

honestly? don't be jealous...I love love order in my cabinets...so I take a little time at the front and straighten as I go and never really need to clean them out. A lesson from Granny Bea
