Craving Change

IMG_0024

That is what it feels like, right?

It is a craving of sorts that means your creative juices are flowing.

I have recently turned my laser /slightly obsessive sights on the living room.

I am ready for change.

And honest and true,

and I don’t mean to go Reba on you,  I had a lot of white in my home long before white was cool.

And now it is everywhere, and there is a reason why I think.

We all want peace and serenity and comfort.

So we shall see how this all unfolds.

I am researching white paint for the walls- which should be easy- but we all know it is the hardest color of all.

Articles like this from Houzz are helping.

Any suggestions?
What is your favorite white paint?

I have to check Houzz out and also find out what paint you use. I am doing my living room/kitchen next month and want a soft creamy white. I know there will 10,000 shades to go through!!

Jane

Hi Laura,
I love Behr's Creamy White. It is soft and pretty and makes the room glow.
I love your white sofa and the animal rug. I can't imagine your livingroom looking any prettier than it already does. But, I can't wait to see the changes.

Peace, Serenity, Comfort...those aren't names of "white paint" already?

I don't have a favorite color white. Just plain white does it for me. I must have a color blind gene. I've been thinking white for my Utility room for a while---right now it is a sunny yellow; and it's very chaotic in there. But, plain white might give it the Peace, Serenity, and Calm it needs. :)

love reading your blog! Your home is beautiful--and I can't imagine needing to change a thing! Pat

Oh oh oh...white is so hard for us. We went white when we redid the guest room and started with "whatever" and went back twice for adjustments till we got the right warm/cool we were looking for.

No help here:) We painted most of the rooms the same color when we moved into our new house 11 years ago and haven't painted since! I have been pretty satisfied with the color in all of the rooms but have been wanting to paint the kitchen and add a window seat in our bay window! Good luck on CHanges at your place:) Have a blessed day dear friend, HUGS!

Does Dover white still exist? My house in Mission was Off White by SW.

I love looking at white walls in other people's house. In our life, we are too messy to pull it off in large quantities. However, there is a lot of white in our new house and I'm not going to jump to change it. My leanings are towards an eggshell sort of white....

My goodness you're going at the new year with great ideas. Love the clean out one cabinet at a time plan. I can't take true white walls, but I've found I love "daylight" CFLBs. They make everything look more true to color. I consider their light white.

I will tell you that it took 7 sample paints to find a white that was perfect for my room. I have 5 large windows that face the south but finally I found Woodlawn bedroom white with Valspar paint...perfect..creamy white but not yellow..everyone loves it. Dianntha
