Friday Finds and Favorites

IMG_0215

So it began once again with my head in a box at the flea market.

I wasn’t looking for anything in particular, because in my experience, that hinders the possibibilities.

It just has to come to you.

If you have flea marketing in your soul, you know what I mean.

I found 13 pieces of Blue Danube for our daughter who lives in Dallas for the grand price of $12.00.

She collects Blue Danube china, milk glass, black amethyst glass, jadeite, and Franciscan Gold Renaissance china.

It’s genetic…

In other news, even though I like to keep my planning options open (sometimes the back of an envelope

works just fine), I LOVE this simple monthly calendar.

I buy a new one every January , and I have for about 12 years.

What makes it so special? It is hard bound, it is red, and it reminds me of an old school teacher’s gradebook-

which I used for many years.

And in the spirit of school supplies, of which I am a great fan, here is the best all-time note pad .

Why?  It has a hard backing, it is wide ruled,  it has a spiral top, and it is at Target for $2.29.

And finally, can we take a moment to think about bloggers who edify others?

There are legions of them.

They are out there, only known to us by their kind, encouraging comments at the end of our blog posts.

I am constantly humbled by their generosity.

Aren’t they wonderful?

Your daughter is going to be so pleased when you visit next time. :)

I'll be on the lookout for the tablets at Target. I still love the real school supplies too.

I'd say that is a great score! You daughter is going to be thrilled. I'm in need of a good outing to find treasures. It's been ages.
The teacher in me likes to keep a calendar that I can actually write on as well as notebooks for making lists. It's just not the same on the phone or computer. Ha!

What a score on the dishes! Sigh... my name is zee and I have a weakness for dishes.:)
A steno pad? I haven't seen one of those in ages. I'll have to get one. I am list maker...

You are a pro at flea markets and I always fall in love and feel envy for your finds. We have the cold here that keeps us out of the game for several months. ;-(

I love perusing the aisles of stores looking for school supplies. Very different now that my baby is a high school teacher. She loves organizational items but has little time to shop. I love what there is to keep us on top of things and in a colorful and much more 'sophisticated' way.

I haven't been to a flea market in years....it seems, they just don't have them up here...anyways---great find. Have a beautiful day.

I well know the thrill of the 'mystery box' at a flea market or auction. Well done! Your daughter will be happy, I'm sure. Just last weekend I polished a large sterling silver spoon and recalled to The Great Dane that it was at the bottom of a box of bits and pieces I once bought at an auction for twenty-five cents.
I buy new pages for my daytimer every year, and have done so now for 16 years. The case is leather, with a zip and I'd be lost without it. Phones and tablets have their place but for me, if it isn't written down it is not likely to happen.
