Garden Chores

Entrance to the Little House

Entrance Patio to the Little House

*****

It’s time to get to work.

I can’t delay another day.

Tomorrow we are going to irrigate the yard, after I fertilize.

I have shared before that our yard is an acre in size.

The only way to water completely is to irrigate.

After that, I am going to finish pruning, trimming, and cleaning.

What needs to be cleaned?

Everything -

including Big Daddy.

Big Daddy

Wish me luck!

This is my goal.

I want to be able to sit here and relax when it is all done.

Do you have any garden chores planned?

It's all looking beautiful, Laura. I'm living through you---we have a good three months of cold, snow, sleet and freeze! Funny we are even in the same country!!

Laura,
What a big job you have before you, but your yard looks so good it will be worth the effort. No rain forecast until Monday, almost a week away. I watered my daffodils yesterday, but need to water them more before the forecasted rain.

No, yard chores...we are experiencing a snow storm here in upstate NY---no yard chores until June or so. Thanks for the smiles---and the fits of giggles over yard chores...(that's a good thing, smiles)

That's a big job -- have fun!

Laura, this is so beautiful! Is it that green right now? It has stayed somewhat green here this year. My pot plants from last summer are all still living. ;)

If I could send water your way, I would. We are soaked to the core. Everything is green and lush and all the blossoms are starting to come out. This will last until the end of June, when the rain will stop and we will live on a very dry island until October. Despite the rain, I love this time of year.

I am living through you...so exciting!!! We will be 82 tomorrow and 30 on Friday. I hope I get a tree planted today! A little oak tree the squirrels planted in my yard..giving it a shot at a future :-)

What a pretty goal. I am mid way through clean up. Headed to the nursery today to get some new strawberry plants and see what else they have. It has been so hot but I can't put it off any longer either.

Wow! Your yard and garden looks amazing. I'm mulching this weekend and will start pruning the crepe myrtles. But I want to put in a garden this year at the lake and need to start preparing that. Lots of work ahead.....yay!

I'm going to live vicariously through you on the gardening scenario! We still have at least 3 more months, before I can start my gardening...unless we get an early spring! Your yard is heavenly! Anxious to start on mine, and I do have plans, but...I'll have to be content with watching yours! Keep the pics coming! ;)

Oh, my, yes, Hubby is meeting with folks now about putting in our new yard, flower beds and such. And, we had 2 acres of yard before and now we have one acre and our house takes up almost all of it and we are so thrilled to have so much less to upkeep. We began work on the back porch a couple of weeks ago and little by little it is coming together.

Yes, I have a garden chore planned - my poor magnolia has a broken branch, and as soon as the snow melts enough, I'll prune it. I have just moved to a new house - I hope there are some spring bulbs that will appear in a couple of months! If not, I'll be ordering from catalogs and digging next fall!

your yard is wonderful. We used to have an acre so I feel your pain on how much workload it requires. Thanks for stopping by today. I see we have the same Spring Dreaming bug today.

Definitely wishing you lots of luck! Your garden is beautiful. I hope you don't over do it to bad! I have 3/4 of an acre backyard and only about 800 square feet of garden beds and even those are time consuming...

Have a great day!

Your garden looks so green. I am hoping to add more plants to our front beds this year. I'm currently looking for plants that thrive in North Texas.

You have a beautiful yard Laura. Only dreaming right now here as it is still cold. And, we usually wait until the pollen has cleared in the spring to spruce things up.

Love your patio Laura! Even though I know your yard is a lot of work I happen to know you are up for the challenge! You give the rest of us wanna be gardeners hope ;-)

I have been working in the yard off and on for the last couple of weeks. Things are trimmed, lots of leaves are hauled (or blown :) away, trash in the big lot is picked up and hauled off. I have pansies blooming in various pots and troughs for however long they last. Some hardy herbs are planted, the raised bed is turned for onions and a few other early spring goodies. Things are looking pretty good. Of course the trees are still bare and the grass is still brown, but the birdies are singing and the scents remind me that spring is not too far over the horizon!!
Your place is beautiful...mine will never look like that, but in spring it does itself pretty proud.
Blessings to you,
J

I can't tell you how uplifting it is to see a lovely yard when it's February (and here in Michigan that means the yard isn't really an option!). Very beautiful and making me itch for spring!
