Spring in the Dining Room

Cobalt Blue and Yellow Tablescape

My love of blue and white, which is obvious in just about every post I write,

started out as something else.

It began because my mother had blue and white pieces throughout her home

and because I live in South Texas.

Why does living in South Texas have anything to do with anything?

Because I also love cobalt blue and cobalt blue is a key color in Mexican glassware

and pottery which is predominant where I live.

I will show you what I mean someday soon .

And so this table setting for a recent birthday dinner I hosted

made perfect sense to me.

These colors working together , as I shared here, are old friends.

In fact, so were the guests!

Laura,
Enjoyed visiting your blog - this table is so beautiful. I too love cobalt blue and especially blue glass. I pinned your table for inspiration.

What a gorgeous table setting! I like cobalt blue too. Love those bird luncheon plates! And I'm intrigued by the name "strawberry congealed salad" -- what exactly makes it "congealed"?

I've always enjoyed yellow and blue together. Our new daughter in love has quite a cobalt blue collection of glassware. It was the accent color at my son and her wedding, too.
Lovely table that you created.

What a lovely set table! I have two (I think, unless I broke one) of the bird plates but mine are red and white.

Those colors are so gorgeous together, and I love the sunflowers in the flower display! I have those same bird plates but in different colors.....use them every day for lunch sandwiches. Your menu also sounds delicious!
