The Art of Thrifting

The Art of Thrifting Edited II
The Announcement
I am excited to announce a periodic series here at White Spray Paint
where bloggers, instagrammers, and even family members of mine will share their thoughts , techniques, tips, experiences and their reasons for thrifting.

The Background
For as long as I can remember, I have frequented flea markets, thrift stores, antique stores and consignment stores looking for treasure.

I learned that from my mother, and my three daughters are treasure hunters as well.

Certainly treasure is all in the eye of the beholder and the seeker, but my main reason for exploring has always been to find beautiful things to enhance our home.
I have also sold many of these treasures at local Market Days with my daughter, had booths in antique and consignment shops, and sold on Ebay and Amazon.

Someday selling at Round Top or Warrenton with my three daughters is on my bucket list .

Thrifting (or exploring as I usually call it) provides the thrill of the hunt, the thrill of the find, great fun, and less expensive  retail therapy.

So why this series?
Whenever I have said to a friend who notices something in my home…’oh, I got that at the flea market’ their response often begins with ‘how?’.

This series is a way to explain some of those ‘hows’.
The When
The Art of Thrifting series begins September 26th with a post from a wonderful blogger and thrifter,

Cecilia from
My Thrift Store Addiction.

Looking forward to the new series. I used to spend more time "thrifting", but had gotten away from it. I was just telling hubby today I was bored with the stuff in the usual stores. Time to start hitting up those flea markets and such again.

Looking forward to this series! I love thrifting too although have not been able to do as much of it over the past few years as I would like to (not enough time). But oh, the treasures I have found over the years too!
