Daybook November 1 and Baseball

IMG_2289

Outside My Window… I see the beds where I need to plant my

daffodil bulbs that I have been storing in my refrigerator.

The tag on the bag says,

‘for the warm weather garden’.

That makes me laugh uproariously.

Oh really?

How about a warm weather garden 6 inches from the sun?

It is still in the 80’s here.

I Am Thinking… about my grandsons-

all day- everyday.

I wish they lived next door .

They could walk over after school and have a snack.

They could help me plant my daffodil bulbs, because they are such hard workers.

I Am Thankful For… the mild weather this past weekend while we helped our middle daughter move.

From the Kitchen…  I went to Big Lots and bought Krusteaz chocolate chunk cookie mix, sugar cookie mix, Marie Callender’s brownie mix,and

Paula Dean’s chocolate cake mix to bake cupcakes for the church fiesta.

(I am not a fan of her mix…)

(Krusteaz mixes are great.)

I am reading… training materials.  I am training 50 teachers this week in Laredo with my training partner.

I am hearing … the pre-game show for game 4 of the World Series.

I love the Texas Rangers.

I like sports stories that

involve redemption.

I love the idea that these men have been playing the game since they were probably 4- in a park or someone’s backyard.

There are players who may have learned the game without real equipment.

I love the way the 3rd baseman Michael Young takes a little hop before he throws to first.

You know he has done that same move for years.

I love talking to my husband about the game during the game.

I love thinking that some of the players-while in the in field or out- are thinking in Spanish while their teammate a few feet away is thinking in English.

(I love Nolan Ryan… shhhhh…..)

I'm with you on wishing to be closer to grand children. I just received email photos of our little fellows trick or treating 3000 miles away. I'd love to help them sort their goodies!

It will be mandatory that my grandchildren live within a block from me.

I wish your grandkids lived closer too. I get such a lot of enjoyment out of my grands. I see my daughters three little girls just about every day of life and my other daughter & her son at least once a week. Thanks for reminding me of all I have to be thankful for. pssst..I'll let you have first dibs on Nolan Ryan. Hugs- Diana

I live in Ohio, but really want the Rangers to win... Always liked Nolan Ryan, but Josh Hamilton is my big reason, he struggles so, and your comment of redemption makes me think of him, plus he was a Red!!

Hummmm, Big Lots and cookie mixes? I guess I have been missing out. But I'm not missing out on Grand kids! I had five of the seven this past weekend and it was so much fun. Yep, I again with Nolan, yum!

why is it that i find planting bulbs really intimidates me. i would love to plant tons of daffodils in my front flower bed, but am afraid that they would not get enough sun... ;(
anyways, i hope that you have a wonderful week!

I've been pulling for TX but looks like they aren't going to make it. Sounds like you'll be busy with 50 teachers! I will have 16 student teachers next semester and will be working for a new university. Hope I can make all the necessary adjustments! I really enjoy working with the young ones.

Okay Miss Laura, I have not been to Big Lots, that's a place and other places you have talked about that, I'd like for you tell me about! Called you today, I know, probably have the wrong number!

Hugs,
Nancy
