Dancing in the Utility Room

IMG_0075

Every day really is a new day here at White Spray Paint,

and yes, my utility room is cobalt blue.

Every other paint color choice seemed wrong.

Why not, right?

And when I started having all sorts of British colonial

design fantasies after it was painted,

straw baskets seemed right.

But that seemed a little tame

until gold came to mind.

And so it goes.

Now it is the perfect place to dance.

I know that because I was dancing there this morning

as my husband walked by the open door and said,

”Get it Mom.”

Faux Twitter: Spray Painting Rugs

IMG_8491

(My Thoughts)

4:30 pm     Boy these outdoor rugs look awful, but if I have to go to Wal Mart , I’ll need to get dressed in something other than my caftan from Ross, so forget that.

4:35 pm     Hmmm. I painted the bench NEXT to the rugs… why not?

IMG_8490

4:45 pm    Which reminds me.  This is the all-time prettiest cobalt blue paint known to man.

I love it because it is talavera blue.

IMG_8497

5:00 pm     Spray, spray, spray.  This makes me feel so smart except for the blue paint spots all over my arms.

IMG_8492

5:15 pm    Oh my… this looks amazing, and I stayed in my robe- woohoo!

Naming Things

IMG_8260

I love to name things as you know.

’Namely’

the little house- a small house in our backyard

hauler 2- my Tahoe (not to be confused with Hauler 1)

the Nap Room- our front study that I re-did last fall

la brecha- our side yard.

And so in planning for spring,

I am going to christen more things that I love.

IMG_8262

I will be re-working the limestone

patio area surrounding the little house.

It needs a suitable name.

This is a favorite piece back there.

This spring I will be using

cobalt blue and yellow to add more to this garden area.

These are all things I have on hand.

Except for the birdcage.

Once again, my husband waited patiently in the truck,

while I explored.

Have a great week-

I am on a vuelta ( a round) visiting daughters and grandsons.

Tonight when I asked my youngest grandson what he had for lunch at

pre-school today,

he said,

”Basdetti.”

I think that calls for a new Ranch Recipe.
