Be Careful, It’s Hot

IMG_0870

At the recent Jackson Street Market Days in Harlingen, this conversation took place at a vendor’s booth.

Me:  “Oh look at that bracelet. May I see it?”

Booth Vendor’s Husband (manning the booth while his wife is on break) , handing it to me:  “Be careful, it’s hot.”

Me:  “Hot?”

Vendor’s Husband:  “Yes.  I mean No! I mean it’s not hot like it’s stolen, it’s hot because, you know, it’s hot.”

Me, tossing the bracelet around like a hot potato: “Oh my gosh, this is hot.”  (It had been sitting out in the bright sunlight.)

Vendor’s Husband, relieved at confirmation: “ Yes! Hot- very hot, but not stolen.”

While juggling it, I spotted this- for my new instantaneous locket collection.

That hot Saturday, I also bought an apron , sold at this vendor’s booth for her sister- a fellow blogger.

Isn’t it wonderful? I fell in love with the hot colors, the large hot pink rick rack, and above all, the turquoise ball fringe.

I am having a garage sale this weekend.  I hope it’s not too hot.

Excellent finds! Love that locket...I would've totally bought the braclet too! An apron is one thing I don't own, but this one makes me want to get one. It is very cute!

Good luck on your garage sale!

That bracelet is HOT!!! but I mean gorgeous!

I'm ashamed to say that if I had bought that bracelet...I probably would take it apart and use it on a cross. :( I'm so bad...but old jewelry components make the crosses that much more special b/c they are more unique. ((hiding my head in shame))

I'm always a little sad when I get to the end of your blog. Durn! I always want to know more. I need to find out the hours of your garage sale. I might take a walk down the street, neighbor. That new roof and paint job look terrific!

What a funny story about the "hot" bracelet! I've enjoyed looking around at your blog. I noticed you have a link to Nell Hill's blog. Have you been to her store before? I live in KC so I'm fortunate to be close to one of her shops and it is breathtaking. I'm pretty sure I could spend all day in there! And she has the most amazing paint colors too.

Hope your garage sale went well :)
