the best planning calendar

IMG_6277

For as many years as I have loved school supplies, calendars, and planners-

and believe me,

I have tried them all…

this calendar is my all-time favorite.

Over the years, I bought all of the Franklin Covey binders,

but as the real

Princess and the Pea,

certain things eventually bothered me.

The brown leather planner was too heavy.

The red leather planner was too heavy and the binder rings got in my way.

The black giant sized planner was also too heavy.

Plus, I couldn’t fit my handwriting in the calendar boxes.

I tried tiny planners to keep in my purse.

Those irritated me too.

Then one day, I discovered Brownline calendars.

They are lightweight yet sturdy.

They are stiff enough to use as a writing surface.

When open, they lie perfectly flat.

They are thin enough to fit in a tote or even a large purse.

They are also thin enough to save year after year.

They are 8 1/2”x11” so papers fit inside the front cover.

They come in red which reminds me of an old school grade book.

And

my writing fits in the calendar boxes.

The best prices are on Amazon.

Good information! I am always looking for a calendar that carries well, and it easily written in... I prefer the week at a glance... with columns... but they've jumped out of my range, right now I use the el cheapo (fill in the date) version from the Dollar store... and it working for me!
I just found it interesting that you posted about it... and you save yours, I save mine as well... there is family history inside! (have posted yet, but have considered it) :)

Love reading your posts , no matter the content...Pat

I always used the dark red grade/attendance books. So schoolish ;-). And I adore school supplies, too! With my new job, I still get to buy them - love it. I use the Lilly Pulitzer agenda. Too small for papers, though. Have a great week! XOXO

Oh, how we need our organizers!! I would be ashamed to show my "green book" system, but true confessions are fun sometimes. Laura, you have inspired me again. I'm already working on a post for this week that was inspired by you... drawing the lines in the dirt. We love our boundaries, don't we? As long as WE make them. lol
Your red books are amazing and so classy!

I'm completely digital on all the organization stuff now, but if I wasn't, this sounds like a great one!

For a number of years the most important things in my planner were the appts for my mother-in-law, various doctors, her hair, etc. Then I added my mother. We lost them both last year.

I've hardly touched my planner and in fact don't even have one for 2011. I think I need one; in fact, I know I do. But somehow it feels heavy with appts that should be there and aren't.

I used the Franklin planners for years. I'll check this out.

Hi Laura...I live by my calendar. If it's not written down, it's forgotten. However, I haven't found one that I love...and I'm going to try this one. I love that it's a great size to file, hold, and write on! Thanks so much for the tip! Have a great evening!
