Just so you know, I just
did an intervention
on myself.
It went something like this…
(In my steel trap mind)
Hmmm. I seem to be writing blog posts about projects I am going to do.
Hmmm. I don’t seem to leave the hunter gatherer stage.
Hmmm. I have now collected lots of things to re-do.
Hmmm. I have even bought the ‘supplies’ I need to do said projects.
Hmmm. I have never been a fan of mice, but I now own a mouse sander.
Hmmm. I traveled through the heat wave this summer that is South Texas to buy chalk paint in McKinney, Texas.
Hmmm. Of course it makes sense to spend $30 on a quart of paint?
And then I snapped,
and thought
WHATEVER.
I found this Duncan Phyfe table
in pieces
at the flea market.
Daughter #3 needs a dining table.
The table was
$30 too.
Dining table $30?
Chalk paint $30?
Whatever.
Now I need more supplies, right?
I need some super , magical wood glue, and
giant clamps and a leveler thing, and some magical wood filler,
and then I’ll need a trailer, right?
Because I won’t be able to drive this finished product
to Dallas in Hauler 2, right?
And after I assemble it and paint it perfectly with my new chalk paint,
I surely won’t want to take it apart again to deliver it,
right?
Your friend,
Steel Trap Mind
PS. I have just set a deadline for all of my projects.
They must be finished in the year 2011.
Phew…that’s a relief.
Whatever.
Intervention #2 over.

Let me know how getting all those projects go! LOL!!! I have a bazillion to complete!
Cute post. The table will be fabulous and well worth all the money and time when it is done. Can't wait to see it. Hugs, Marty
Wow...$30 was a great price and I'm with you on getting all my projects done in 2011:)
Blessings,
Linda
I am the same. I just went out and hosed down some pieces of furniture I need to paint. That is probably all that will get done today. Who wants to sand and paint in this heat?
Brenda
The hardest part for me is getting started! Once I do that then I'm on a roll to finish. I once read a story about two men...one had trouble starting a project, one had trouble finishing a project. Then they decided to work together and all was well in their world. Moral: I need a partner!
I can't wait to hear how you like the Chalk paint! I so want to try it! XOXO
I have the same problem as you. Hmmm. Can I finish my proposed projects in the year 2011 too? Something to ponder.
You will work wonders on that table! I don't make commitments like finishing all my projects by the end of the year...I haven't finished last year's yet.
Hope you will bring one of your fabulous projects and join my firt Potpourri Friday party on Sept 2. Link-up will start on Thursday afternoon.
I HAVE THE EXACT.SAME.PROBLEM. My mind is screaming!!! can you hear it?
I want you to hurry up-- so I can see!
I must drive to McKinney too-- I must.
I must.
Pat
You and I are on the same page today, although your projects are a little larger and need a little more space than mine. It seems that we both put things off!
Looking at all your post, I know I am in good company. I have so many projects to be finished it is crazy! Can't wait to see how you like the chalk paint, I want to try it myself...
I have a long list of projects that need to be worked on too! Funny thing when I see something that needs a paint job, I say... I'll just paint it! Oh my, now I have to paint it:)
Thanks for the intervention! HUGS!
You are too cute. Your steel trap mind is also a creative mind. The table will be a beauty when you're finished (in 2011) I'm sure. :)
Laura,
You are such a sweet Mom! Daughter #3 is gonna love it!!!
PS You can buy that chalk paint online.Just saying. You know, for the NEXT project.:)
hey you are way ahead of most...you have set a target date....good job...
I can SO relate
to this, Laura!
I finally wrote.it.
all.down.....so I
could come up with
a game plan. Kudos
for giving yourself
a deadline; I wasn't
THAT tough on myself.
But I do want to get
it done!! Good luck!
xx Suzanne
