Get Up Laura

This afternoon while my ‘patients’ (my husband and father-I almost prefaced that with hard-headed) napped, I have been in the lap of luxury (actually my laptop is in my lap) visiting blogs of amazing renown, accomplishment, energy, determination, creativity, multi-tasking wizardry, culinary expertise, gardening by the mile bloggers all with a working knowledge of power tools.

I am going to call these amazing women’s blogs

                   Amazing Women’s Blogs .

Picture this…

Me: (thinking as I read)  Oh my gosh. How did she do that?  Get up Laura, get up!

Me:  I get up and go outside. I drag a 5 gallon knockout rose bush to a spot determined by my black thumb. I begin to dig a hole in prehistoric fossilized dirt.  I think the radio will help. I turn on the radio. “Hooked on a Feeling” is playing. Are you kidding me?

Me: I get distracted by the weird stuff floating in my fountain. I start splashing around in all of that and realize that I had cleaned the fountain recently with Clorox- the tried and true path of least resistance- while getting Clorox splotches on my favorite chocolate brown capris with ties at the hem.

Me: Now I’m really distracted. The knockout rose begins to laugh.

Me: I wonder if I’m getting a tan or at my age more likely some horrific skin/sun exposure consequence. Where did the days of baby oil and iodine tanning mixtures go? How did I get to this age?

Me:  It’s too hot. I’ll wait till midnight tonight when it’s not so hot.

10 minutes later… back in the house…

Me: (thinking as I read) Oh. My. Gosh. How did she do that? Get up Laura, get up!

A great post!! I love this! We are all guilty of doing this - if I had completed all the projects in reality that I have in the abstract I would be Superwoman! haha xoox

Oh, man. I have splashed Clorox on my clothes (the ones I was wearing), and the resulting white spots ruined them. So maddening! It's hard to throw out clothes like that, when you haven't worn them long enough to get tired of them. And now I'm going to go lay down for awhile. I'll do something later on.

Laura... do as I have done... read and enjoy...watching others work... it's a great experience... if you add a glass of wine and some nice dark chocolate covered strawberries... it's even more enjoyable!
LOL

Hubs wants to know what i'm laughing at... hehe. Look my dear lady, we all have days we start out with the best intentions only to be sidetracked by reality. I can tell you one thing about lupus that can be funny. I'll start out doing one thing & 20 steps later, i've not yet done the one thing that needed doing. BRAIN FOG is a major symptom of lupus and I tell you sometimes good to know it's not me. :)

Maybe tomorrow you'll get it done eh? Blessings to you.

Oh I laughed at this post, so cute. It sounds like you borrowed a day right out of my life. And I thought I was the only one who had days like this!

Love it - great post. My excuse these days, is that I have AAADD - Age Activated ADD.

Yep..planted three roses..five trees..poured yards of concrete to make curbing for my new flower bed..used the blower and blew off the patio..cleaned the fountain cuz it wasn't working right.. and I lie a lot! However..when the all that was done by my sweet and (depressed and overworked retired husband and my low on REAL work son in law) I did plant flowers. Yep..every single one. NO MORE LAYING BRICKS for me! Been there, done that! You did the right thing. Put it off...until... and I admire that SO much! I really must get over here every day because I LOVE this blog!! You have a lap top?? Oooh..I could carry that outside to the lawn swing.. :)
Lucky you!!

Oh...I soooo loved this post. I am still laughing!

Now...thank you SOOOOO much for the visit to my humble bloggie! :) After YEARS and YEARS and YEARS (and on and on and on...) spraying everything and anything white, I've opted to change over to something a bit easier on my lungs! :) I have lots of favorite "whites" but my fav's are BEHR's Cottage White and Signature Paint's Navaho White. Both are off-white in color. The BERH paint is much higher $$$$ but it is better/thicker.

Blessings to you sweetie...I'll be back!

xoxoRebecca
