Blog Blackout, Still Pining , and a To Do List

I have hit a wall with my blog post thinking and writing- to the degree in fact, that I am having a hard time finishing this sentence.

What has my irreverent, dice-throwing style of writing all tied up in knots?  I don’t know. I can’t seem to think that far.

I love the word pining- as in I am still pining for…

I am certain if I had these dishes, I would start wearing red silk pajamas with a Nehru collar , Audrey Hepburn sunglasses, and holding an empty cigarette holder. My husband might RUN back to New Normal.

After Lavender Chick suggested only putting things on my list that I have done- which I think is the smartest thing I have ever heard- I wrote this list.

Tended to some new teacher work details.

Called the County Extension Agent for gardening information.

Dreamed about a jewelry closet organized like Rachel Zoe’s.  Bought plastic boxes at Wal Mart instead.

Laughed about my baby grandson going to the movies and eating popcorn.

Made plans with a friend to join/visit a farm coop tomorrow.

Called Valley Garden Center about bulbs.

Thought that life is indeed grand.

So instead of a To Do list, you did a Done list. I like that! And the word 'pining' got you going a bit...

I'd hate to see you stop writing. To be completely honest, I was drawn to your blog because of your excellent writing...if that is of any interest to you! Ha!!

Have a wonderful weekend, Laura!

Dear Laura,
#1 Go buy the dishes. If you've posted about these puppies twice it's time to realize you need them. Something in you psyche is screaming "I need to be a red bird and fly away to far off places!" And besides, you'd look cute in those pajamas and a cigarette holder is OK without the ciggy.
#2 Concentrate on yourself for at least a week, preferably TWO...Pamper yourself, and be the teensiest self-centered!
#3 Don't go near the computer no matter how much you want to. Slap yourself hard and stand firm. NO!!!!! (you know we'll all still be here waiting for you.)
#4 Go buy something fun and bright, even if it's a new pen, I love your "Done" list. See all you've accomplished?
there are so many more...hmmm... I have used the word "buy" twice. I guess we know how much "retail therapy" works for me.
We love ya, girl.
Take care of yourself!!!

Laura- I am a compulsive list maker and I do pretty much the same thing. When I accomplish something I just add it to the list and THEN cross it off!!! :) Instant gratification! If you don't buy the dishes, at least buy the red silk pj's!

I vote to buy the dishes AND the silk pajamas, AND the Audrey Hepburn sunglasses AND the cigarette holder. I think with the way you have held up under "New Normal", you need to treat yourself... and, yes, take off for at least a week.
Did I tell you how nice it is to have my neighbors back on the "lane"????

Laura... I have to say there's not a thing wrong with those Audrey Hepburn sunglasses... why... I wear them all the time!

why not just buy a piece at a time... who knows what you'd end up with.

Candy and I are junkin' at Wimberley tomorrow...I'll keep my eyes open for some red silk pj's!

your list is better than mine..mine is a to-do...and it is uninspiring...depressing and daunting....yours is a list of accomplishments!!! good idea she has there!

Definitely buy the dishes and treat yourself to a siesta to relax and recharge. I used to be a compulsive list maker and then one year I decided to try an experiment. I didn't make a list for one YEAR! And you know what, everything got done anyway and I had a lot more fun. :)

Love the list idea. Of course I am obsessive about making lists!
Buy the dishes for yourself. Seriously, You deserve them and they will forever be a symbol that you owe it to yourself to be good to YOU and appreciate YOU, along with all that you do for everyone around you! Do not come back to this blog without those dishes in hand. That is your homework assignment, and if you don't do it, you will receive a detention! ;-) {HUGS!!} xoxo

Hi Laura!!!
Hmmmm, where do I start? I guess by telling you that I LOVE YOUR WRITING and I love coming here. Don't ever feel that you've let US down...be sure that you are writing for YOURSELF (we love that!) So if you need a break ~ take one! It will do wonders for you because you've been going through alot and you need to take care of YOU too! Glad to hear his surgery went well. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be his last one needed.
In the meantime, I'm hoping you brought your camera to the farmer's coop so you can bring us along too! So interesting! ;)

WOW what a job! You do have some splanin' to do, Lucy ;-)
I, too got a smile from the Graffias and the walk along memory lane on the River Walk. We go there every December. And just the other day my hubby was complaining about A&M's team. He is class of '77 Woop!
Wednesday Blessings.
