Reverse Bucket List

Bucket lists make me nervous.

(wait for it…wait for it…)

What happens if you don’t finish the list?

What happens if item #4 isn’t what you thought it would be?

I have a solution-

a

Reverse Bucket List:

a list of things already done.

Here is part of mine:

P1000198

* Seeing my husband’s face, as he sat in the Chicago Cubs dugout

the weekend Katherine ran the Chicago marathon for Parkinson’s research.

(my grandson and my father)

* Watching these two guys eat Blue Bell ice cream out of my mother’s

milk glass bowls.

and

*Working with this funky, quirky house

that was a HUD listing,

had been abandoned,

had fire damage in the hall bath,

and

is my

HAVEN.

So here’s the deal ladies.

You have a bucket list-

you always have.

It’s behind you.

Yes - Mine would be a reverse bucket list. Went thru a period of to many "I am going to" situations that did not get done. So decided to list my accomplishments instead of what I want to accomplish.

Way to go, Laura! You are so right. We need to focus more on what we have accomplished and remember that we did not do these things alone...

L.B.,
Have to say...this made me sit up and take notice. Life is just a series of drops in the bucket isn't it? I had just never thought of it that way until you so wisely pointed it out to me.

P.S. I have a wonky circa early '70's HUD home. My kids try to talk me/us into moving, but I tell 'em, the roots go straight to the center of earth.

My hsband always asks e what is on my list. I don't like the thought of a bucket list either. I like your take on it.
The picture of your grandson and his great grandfather is precious. I love your hoe.

No words Laura. You touched my heart. I need to look at my reverse bucket list, give thanks for blessings given and live right now to the fullest. In the end, it really is about family, isn't it? Patty

Hmmm.... well there is definitely something "behind" me and I wish I could lose it so it wasn't on my bucket list or my reverse bucket list.
