Smokey Eye With Chalk Paint

IMG_9868

I have spent the better part of this weekend

painting furniture in our new SW Snowbound White guest room-

hence the post title.

Why that title?

Because when I paint-

I also paint

MYSELF.

Remember my Anti-Paint Tutorial?

I paint in my gown-

I paint recklessly-

and I paint messy.

I have also spent more time this weekend

under the bed trying to reach for things

without kicking over said chalk paint can than I care to repeat.

But let me tell you-

as someone who is 3 years late to the party-

IMG_9870

(and yes- I painted the hardware and I even left the stuff in the drawers!)

you could paint your car with chalk paint-

without washing it FIRST

and it doesn’t care.

I am impressed and a MESS.

***

PS.  Do you think this  ‘no le hace’ (It doesn’t matter)

attitude about DIY projects

is why I have lost 4 followers in a week?

All I can say is if you are still reading-

you go girl!

If you are just a tad rebellious and think most things are funny-

then you are in the right place.

I'm here too!! I laughed at you painting with the stuff still in the drawers. No wonder you cover so much territory in such a short time. What other short cuts do you have??? No holding out, Miss Laura.

LOL- I don't know why you lost followers but I am pretty sure it is not your devil-may-care attitude. I think people have been dropping off blogging- I know two that quit this week...when they go bye-bye so does their enrollment as a follower. And if they did drop off because you are a hot mess well, who needs 'em anyway? lol Now...go clean yourself up! xo Diana

I don't comment every time but I'm still here...that is strange tho' cause I lost 2followers this last week and was starting to get worried. Maybe they were the same people!

I think followers come for a while, lose interest and disappear. The ones that stay, even if like me, they dont comment a lot, are the faithful ones!

I haven't gone anywhere...still enjoying HOW you do your projects, and the always stunning results. Plus, your sense of humor goes perfectly with my morning coffee! ;)

Any paint that will cover pre-existing dirt is worth it's $35 price tag...every single drop.
You mean to tell me, I'm not supposed to be wearing it in my hair and on my the bottom of my feet? Well shoot...ain't that a mare's *!
I say don't sweat the small stuff Sister. Those four don't know what they're missin'!

I agree about the ASCP. I was surprised to hear it wasn't latex and it still cleans up so well. Maybe it will come off of you easily, hah.
As far as loosing followers......It seems I just get a couple new ones then there is one that drops. It's all good.

Girlfriend, girlfriend, girlfriend. Remember your post about what you can't live without? Well, I bought the Oil of Olay face scrubber and I LOVE IT! I kept trying to remember whose blog had the recommendation and today, I realized it was YOU!
I have always gotten compliments on my skin and have been told that I don't look my age. Well honey, you have upped the ante for me, because I don't think my skin could look any better.
Thanks SO much for your recommendation-you rock!

I literally laughed out loud when I read what a messy painter you are! Welcome to the club, and I am a proud member, too! ha! I have a couple of "paint outfits" and they aren't fit to be seen in, bearing at least some remnant of every color I've painted with them on! The funny thing is, I hardly ever get any on the floor ...mishaps, and I can paint a mean perfectly straight trim line down a wall/window, or up by the ceiling, but myself, it's on ...literally ...hair and all! LOL!

Sorry about the dropped followers! Things like that used to bother me, but not anymore. Why sweat it??? I have less than 175 followers, (pretty pitiful, huh?), but get TONS more hits, so go figure! You have a fabulous blog, just keep doing what your doing! :) ~Rhonda

I love this post. I am a messy painter too and I think chalk paint is the bomb. :o) How do you know you lost followers? Don't give it a second thought...they are the ones losing out. Happy Labor Day Laura!

Stacey said...

No, You go girl! Don't pay attention to the followers list. I'm not sure that it means a thing.

Thanks for sharing your experience with chalk paint. From what you describe, I think I can handle it. :)

I will always be here. I love your sense of humor and quirkiness. The other day I finally cleaned out my drawers and discovered I have more paint clothes (good shirts and capris that I've painted in and covered in paint) than regular clothes. I am getting much better at changing before I pull out the paint brush now. Enjoy your day. btw...I still haven't tried chalk paint!
