The Days of Wine and Roses and Mature Eyes

Makeup Tutorial

Who knows what triggers an interest

in my steel trap thinking?

I just know that earlier this summer,

my middle daughter Lauren mentioned

Pixiwoo makeup tutorials on

YouTube,

and it may as well have been

an invitation to

lost weekends in the movie

The Days of Wine and Roses

(Remember Jack Lemmon and Lee Remick?  Anyone??)

I am lost, and I am obsessed.

Picture this.

A seedy motel room-

My laptop in my lap-

YouTube videos on MATURE EYES playing repeatedly-

Laura Mercier Caviar eye sticks strewn everywhere-

My 10 x magnifying mirror swinging back and forth-

and

cherry pits everywhere (my new obsession- 0 points).

Scary…

But my MATURE EYES are done.

***

Go to YouTube and search for Pixiwoo-

a duo of British makeup artists.

You will be transfixed.

okay- you have roused my curiosity...if I get hooked are you sending me cherries so that my bed, too, can be filled with pits? xo Diana

I'm waiting for the Utube video of you doing your mature eyes :)

I just watched that whole thing. I do a lot of that- using Bare Minerals makeup...but I don't do the extra lashes. The one thing I did notice was that although everything else was powder based she used a cream blush- someone else told me that, too...that it gives more of a glow. She looked gorgeous when she was done, didn't she? xo Diana

How fascinating! Beautiful model... and obviously a makeup artist. Excellent tips. Can't wait to try some of these new ideas. I'm really into Laura Mercier and Chanel... have not used much Mac other than lipstick. So fun to experiment!

I totally need to see this. I was just studying how hooded my eyes are becoming and thinking maybe, just maybe, if they got too hooded I could get an eye lift as a medical necessity, hahaha. Oh and now I want to watch The Days of Wine and Roses while eating cherries and fixing up my old eyes. Thanks, Pam

I can not have another new addiction right now. The house is already dirty, the next addiction will keep me out of the shower.

Oh my, I can see me now trying to add false eyelashes to my eyes...it could be entertaining, or require an ER visit, not sure which!!!
