A Gift to Myself

We all get excited by different things/similar things in life. The wish list this type of excitement creates is often written on one of the note pads I keep throughout the house, in the car, in my purse, in my mind, and in my heart. Certainly there are more important priorities: family, health, relationships. When I retired from teaching last May, however, I moved this to the top of the list.

In the area where we live, there is a stone used for fountains, columns, and other garden items called cantera.

My fountain, a gift to myself (ever done that?), after 32 years of teaching is made of cantera. A fountain had been on my wish list for a very long time.

This bird bath is also out of cantera. I bought it the same day. My petunias are actually blooming and the funny shaped items in the birdbath are stone birds.

I love the sound of trickling water and how the white blossoms from a nearby wild olive tree fall into the water.

Happy Easter! Thanks for stopping by! I love your blog and especially the explanation for your blogs title - White Spray Paint. Love it! My mother had a great propenent in white out or liquid paper. She always had some in her purse, car, kitchen drawer, etc... It was used to touch up our tennis shoes (tennies) for school, scuff marks, furniture, you name it..

I love your new cantera stone fountain, just beautiful! Also - I'm going to have to steal your 'Ohh Happy Day' song for my blog for today... Really like it!
