Here’s Your Chance Part II or More Random Questions Because I Know You Have the Answers

question mark

Disclaimer:  I am not the least bit embarrassed that I do not know the answers to these questions. Nor am I embarrassed that I unleashed blogland’s National Guard after my last Wordless Wednesday post on water.

That’s my story.

Rules:  None- just answer a question (or as many as you like), if you feel like it.

1.  Does anyone have a list by day of all of the memes in our little neck of the woods?

2.  What does meme mean?

3.  Has anyone ever had simultaneous music playing from multiple blogs, turned off the speaker on your computer, turned it back on later forgetting about what you did earlier, only to be bombarded with six blogs playing different music at the same time?

4.  Does anyone have a recipe for how to make spicy or hot  bread and butter pickles ?

5.  What is your favorite way to lose my weight? Oops , I meant to say what is your favorite way to lose weight? (sure…)

6.  Is it too late in the summer to plant other vegetables besides tomatoes?

7. How long could you prepare meals from your refrigerator, pantry, and freezer without going back to the store?

The end.  Pass your papers to the front… The bell is about to ring.

I can only answer the last questions as I don't know the answer to the others. Last question - I could probably live for 5-7 days just on the food from my fridge. (I just got groceries).

Q3: I have music playing on my blog. I need to pause it before I go to another blog with music playing or my computer will sometimes kick me off of the internet. Occasionally my computer will freeze and I have to shut down and re-start in safe mode(very annoying and time consuming).

Q5: The best way for me to loose weight is
calorie counting. Not fun but always works.

Q6: In south Jersey it isn't too late to plant vegetables... not the cold preferring ones like radishes, peas and lettuce but peppers, zucchini, herbs will do fine.

Q7: I like to keep meat/poultry in the freezer and purchase when on sale. I could probably go several weeks. I also keep the basics in the pantry. I bake and freeze quick breads, yeast bread, and muffins for breakfasts and after school snacks and well as cookies, some cakes and desserts that freeze well. Fresh Produce and dairy I purchase weekly.

#3 - yes, I've had multiple music. Just make sure you X out instead of minimize. I don't put music on my blog.

I can help with #4. Go to www.almanac.com
It is the Farmer's Almanac. You key in your zip code and it tells you what to plant spring and fall. What works best for your area.
It's has all kind of goodies on that site.
Enjoy it.
#7 I could make it about 4-6 days given the meat I have in my freezer. Added to some canned veggies. Not much longer than that.
As for the other ?'s. Not much help here.

Well I do know that it is not too late to plant things in the garden. I planted some green beans yesterday. They will just come in a little later. I have had the same thing happen with music and it is truly a weird feeling. :-) I could actually survive a long time without going to the store because my freezer and pantry are full but I might get really tired of the same thing over and over. :-) Sorry I can't really help with the others. Have a great day!

1. A "meme" list is made up of what "me" wants to do!
2. A "meme" is a person who only thinks of their goals and Katy-bar-the-door if anyone gets in their way!
3. No... at least not yet.
4. Put a few canned jalapenos in with the B&B pickles. Delish!
5.Eat healthy and work like a Trojan in the yard. (I should try that, shouldn't I??)
6. Go for it and see what happens. I would think they might be a little sensitive to our intense heat though.
7. With a few meatless meals, probably about a week and a half.

When do we get our papers back, "Teach"?

1 & 2 .... I don't know but I will learn

3. no.. migraines tend to teach you fast what not to do... :)

4. no but i'm sure my sister would have the pickle recipe... don't like hot bread.

5. doing what i've been doing for two days straight... good honest hard work with my hands. In the summer, this is accomplished much easier than winter.

6. You can plant anytime.. but you may not reap. Actually I think the end of may is a cut off for a lot of different items.

7. Can you use orange juice in cereal? Okay then, i'm all set for about....5-7 days.

I love this post.

OK, some of the comments are hilarious! I just asked about a meme last week. (Actually, meme is what my children call my mother!) In blogland it is an idea that spreads from person to person. I think you could say various events - like Tablescape Thursday, Met Monday, Today's Thrifty Treasures, Burlap Party, Porch Party, Bunny on a stick party, Second time Around Tuesday - are memes. About the garden....I know my MIL plants a second crop of green beans in early summer, but that's about it.....uh could you repeat the question? Oh, I remember - food - for diets, I like everything in moderation and leave off sweets. It really is better for me NOT to have forbidden food items (as in all protein diets or South Beach). I can avoid or limit, but don't tell me I can't have! It does help that I don't care for deep fried foods (chicken and fries) or chips & junk food. However, it is a CONSTANT BATTLE!! About meals in the freezer...I'm not that organized - I am in many areas of my life, but I find myself going by the grocery about 5 days out of 7 (and our kids are grown and gone!) grrrrrrr! Linda

Cute survey!

I'll jump to #3..Yes, I've had several songs playing at once. Drives me nuts, but don't know a quick way to correct it when I am blog surfer. #4 ~ I'm sure if I search in my 150 (or so) cookbooks I could find you one if no one else comes up with one. #5 Step aerobics but all the choc. I consume doesn't help. #6 I would think in S. Texas you could surely still plant veggies #7 I just got groceries. I'm sure I could go at least a week.

Nice to meet you. Do stop by on 47th street and say hello! :)

Hi Laura - nice to meet another Texas gal! Thanks for stopping by. I love to meet locals! We're in East Texas, my oldest son graduated from A&M as did my husband. I noticed that your daughters went there.

I'm a big advocate of white spray paint, too, as we are re-doing our farmhouse, and lots of things are getting sprayed. Covers a multitude of faults!

For your survey, I'll answer #4 - I have a great recipe for pickles. My mamaw's SPICY PICKLE recipe, which I will be makin' here in a week or two when I collect enough of my cukes to fool with it. They are our all-time favorite. A little dill, a little sweet, a little spicy with jalapenos, garlic, celery, salt and apple cider vinegar, AND they're crispy. Stay tuned - the more jalapeno, the better! I plan to do a tutorial on these pickles.

See ya next time! Vickie

Just wanted to say hi, I'm getting caught up with what you've been up to. I am behind, once again, on my blogging. First of all, I had no idea about your trips to New Normal - I hope everything is okay. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Regarding your questions... I don't know the answers to just about any of them. I guess I flunked the test. I will say that I think I could probably live for at least 10 days on what's in my fridge/pantry. Now I must clarify, I don't know if I could make balanced meals 3 times a day for 10 days, but I could live for 10 days. I am the girl that had mustard greens for my 10-year anniversay because that was all I could find in the pantry. I don't even know where those mustard greens came from....

Have a wonderful weekend and I hope you're out of New Normal, TX and back to Normal, TX.

When I want to lose weight, I take off my shoes.
We can eat as long as there is a Jack-in-the-box.
My recipe is on the jar.

I've been trying to figure out the music thing myself. Still working on it.
And I think I could last about 7 days. Running out of milk would be the problem. Just reminded myself to put powdered milk on my grocery list.

Your questions are great, and because I'm over 50 and have a rebellious streat I will only answer one, Ha! The weight loss thing! The long and the short of it is: 1.) 2.)Exercise...Everyday, Pick your poison...walking, running, biking whatever!!! Just do it.
For the last three months Mr. Wonderful and I have been doing just that. He has lost 40lbs. I have lost 20lbs. He's a man, I'm a woman and we all know how that shakes down. Hi Laura! First I'll answer the water fall questions...under the rocks I have tubing attached to the pump that goes up and over the rock to form a waterfall. The trick is to get the water to go out far enough and fast enough that it doesn't go up under the rocks! I'm sorry I failed your test though! the only one I can sort of answer is the diet one. If there's a favorite way I haven't found it! You have to stop eating candy and cookies and cake and sugar and other white stuff like bread and rice! But I can tell you to excercise! Join a Curves! I love it!!!! You'll love it! You'll lose inches and weight and body fat and get tone and fit! God Bless! Lauralu :)

Hi Laura...

Ohh my...is this a test and are we going to be graded? hehe!

Well I do know that a "meme" is a blogging event...such as Sunday Favorites, Tablescape Thursday, etc. Yes, sometimes I have several blogs going at the same time and have to shut the sound off...later forgetting about it only to be nearly rocked off of my chair! Hehe! And...let's see...if I were to make my food stretch...I could make it a couple of weeks! Hehe!!!

What fun! Ohhh no...I think I may have failed because I didn't know many answers! wink! Well my friend, I just want to thank you for coming by and taking a peek at my water tablescape and for the sweet comments that you left for me!!! I sure do appreciate that!!!

Have a wonderful weekend, my friend!

Hi Sweet Laura!

This was sooo funny......I just HAD to answer.

1) What's a MEME?
2) see #1
3) Doesn't that just make 'ya crazzzzy? Sometimes when I happens I can't find where it's even coming from....Not everyone has that same music gizmo....It's like a headache and I sigh when I finally get all the offending tunes turned off. Of course, I have music on mine, so who the heck am I to complain?? :-)
4) Spicy HOT pickles?
5) Please tell me what work work short of sewing my lips together?
6) I wish I knew, I'd still like to plant those tiny white pumpkins for fall decorating? YIKES....fall's not that far away, is it?
7) until 2014.

Hugs!
Spencer
