It May Be A Crazy Flea Market But It’s My Flea Market

Flea market 2

When I have mentioned the flea market in previous posts, I may have created a mind’s eye impression of what it looks like.  Trust me.  It doesn’t look like what you may have pictured.

At the flea market in my area , I spend more time BENT OVER digging than I do standing up and leisurely walking around. The vendors are not too concerned with merchandising and organization.

This may not appeal to you.  Is that an understatement?  However, digging appeals to me. It is a search after all, right? There ARE treasures hidden there somewhere.

The search includes interesting sights at times, but I like that too.  I love the fun of it all.  Once my daughter saw a man, after purchasing a live goat, throw it in the trunk of his car. That makes me laugh.

And then there are things like this that are wonderful and exciting to find.

And on several occasions I went home with a case of these for my husband.  Cold mango slices are wonderful on cereal in the morning.

I have to cut this short.  It’s that time of the morning .  These photos reminded me I need to get moving to see what is out there this weekend.

Wow Laura...that's "one stop shopping" if I've ever seen it! Where else can you get food, toys and a goat all in one place????

Okay....I'm speechless! What a huge mess! My daughter loves to dig, not me. I'm more for the organized sort of flea market shopper.

Wow! You have to really work for your treasures but I am sure that makes the find that much sweeter! Have a great weekend!

Ha! This post really did make me laugh out loud! Yes, I have been to this sort of a flea market and you CAN find some great stuff. I'm not sure I'm quite as patient as you. I usually expect things to be quite cheap if I have to work for the find!

I love to dig!

If you can wade through all of that, there's probably some really wonderful things there. That reminds me of most of the yard sales I find around here. Thanks for the look. Hugs, Marty

Laura,
When there is a pile involved, I usually send Jenn in to ferret out something for me...she's not afraid of anything, BUT...not even for sweet charity would I send her in there. I'd be afraid she'd be lost forever. Oh mylanta, how do you even know where to start? I have never seen anything like it and girl, I've been around!

I know there just has to be treasure there, but how long does it take to find it? The goats in the pen cracked me up, only in Texas! Kathy

Looks like a challenge to find treasures in that heap! But, since you do manage to find so many lovely things, there, I'll take your word for it. Had to laugh out loud about the goats.
