It’s a School Night

This morning I woke up in New Normal, Texas ,where my husband will have another surgical procedure, but regardless, family things stay the same.

We had dinner at Daughter #1’s house last night, and it just happened to be at the end of the first day of kindergarten for my grandson.

I tried to ask all of the usual questions about his first day, to no avail, but it didn’t matter because his refusal to answer silly questions was as endearing as answering them.

I did get to love all over grandson #2 , when he wasn’t wrestling with his brother.

My daughter had oatmeal cookies sitting out that she had baked for her boys, and we had her wonderful tortellini casserole for supper, which is delicious.

After supper, as their little family headed into that wonderful time of the evening when everything is governed by

It’s a school night,”

we headed to the hotel.

Glad you had a nice visit with your grands -- I'm sure that's a most wonderful distraction from the worry and concern of surgery -- hope that everything goes very well indeed for your husband!

Laura, I just read some of your earlier posts about God visiting. Thank you for sharing your life and thoughts. Tears come to my eyes as I think how I would like to just give you a big hug, and be there in person with you. I'm praying that all will be well with your husband and that God will be with you in such a big way that you will clearly feel His presence.
Blessings, dear, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Hope all has gone well with hubby! It's nice that God provided a joyous night before the surgery... I always loved the first day of school and the stories that my children and then grandchildren shared... Their excitement warms my heart... as I know it does yours.

Hello Laura...

Hope that all is going will with your husband, my friend! Not sure what is going on...and it doesn't matter (I'm not trying to be snoopy) but just wanted to let you know that I whispered a prayer for him!!!

It's so nice that you are getting to visit with your daughter and grandsons! I think that is just so sweet...that your daughter made homemade cookies for her boys when returning home from school! You don't hear of that much anymore!

Well my friend, I just wanted to stop by to say thank you for coming by and leaving such a nice note for me on my "Celebration Giveaway"! I also just wanted to take this time to thank you for following Happy To Design...it's been such a pleasure getting to know you, my friend!!!

Warmest wishes,
Chari

Hey there!
I am just catching up on my blogity world after being gone for two weeks.
I hope all is going well with your husband. It is so stressful to have a loved one in the hospital.

Your letter to your little guy's kinder teacher was fantastic!

It reminded me of a time when I was a new teacher and a student wrote a spelling sentence about a "right whale."
I didn't know beans about whales at the time, so I said, 'Oh, and is there a Left Whale, too?'
He insisted there was a Right Whale.
I continued to argue with him and said I'd eat my hat if there was a whale called the right whale and sent him over to the library to prove it to me.

The next day, I brought a big cake shaped like a straw hat and they all helped me eat my hat!
